General Policy

The following policy covers bookings made directly with Rockvale House by phone, email or by booking directly through the Rockvale House website.

For bookings made on partner websites (Expedia, Bookings.com etc.), the policies of those partners must also be taken into account and where there is a conflict, the policy of the site booked through will generally override the policy written here.

To secure a booking at Rockvale House, a deposit equivalent to the cost of one night’s Bed and Breakfast is required.

If the customer cancels with fewer than 5 days notice from the commencement of the stay, the deposit will not be returned unless the room is re-let.

Please note that every effort is made to re-let the room.

A Credit will not normally be given for room nights or meals booked but not taken during a stay.

Any refunds made will only be to the debit/credit card originally used. 

If for some reason a cancellation is necessary, please advise us at the earliest opportunity, ideally, initially by telephone, so that attempts may be made to re-let the room.

Once we have received your notification of cancellation, we will confirm the situation by the most convenient method, probably email.

In the event that a cancellation needs to be made by Rockvale House alternative accommodation will be offered nearby. If this is not possible or acceptable, all paid deposits will be refunded. Apart from exceptional circumstances Rockvale House’s liability will not extend beyond this.

Check in time is between 3:00pm and 6:00pm on the first day, though if guests arrive prior to this time and the room is ready they will usually be able to gain access.

If guests arrive prior to 3:00 pm and the room is not ready they may leave their luggage with us until the room is available.

Arrivals after 6:00pm should be notified in advance.

Check out time is 10.30am unless by prior arrangement (Please “see FAQ page). If guests wish to check out but leave a car in the car park for a while, please ask Vanessa or Phil.  This is usually quite acceptable, but it is necessary to check that the space is not needed especially in peak holiday periods.
